Two young school choir choristers were from South African School Choral Eistertford (SASCE) at Dutywa on the evening of 18-04-2008. Both Choristers were dropped by the school bus along the N2 road outside Dutywa near collywobbles J.S.S. at about 19h00. A man came behind them and grabbed the 17 year old girl and the second learner run. The suspect threatened the victim and told her to stop crying. He then allegedly raped her to his satisfaction and released her. The girl reported the crime to her mother and the latter took the victim to the police where the case was opened. The suspect is not yet arrested. The police are appealing to the organisers of this festival to make sure that these festivals are finished before the sun set as most choristers are victims of crime when the festivals sustain till late at night.
